Some Puerto Rican afternoons look as if the sky were mixing its own drink: yellow near the horizon, orange in the center, and a final red band before nightfall.
That image inspired Caribbean Sunset, an original zero-proof drink by Caribbean Dried Co. made with pineapple, lime, bubbles, and grenadine. It is tropical, refreshing, and easy to prepare; its signature is the layering inside the glass.
A zero-proof drink with presence
Pineapple adds body and sweetness. Lime brings acidity. Sparkling water keeps the mixture light, and grenadine creates the transition in color.
The result balances three sensations: sweet, tart, and refreshing. A drink does not need alcohol to feel special.
The order creates the sunset
Fill the glass with ice and add pineapple and lime first. Slowly pour in the sparkling water to preserve the bubbles.
Finally, pour the grenadine gently down one side. Because it is denser, it will sink and form a transition from yellow to orange and red.
Do not stir immediately. Part of the experience is watching the color shift inside the glass.
The garnish completes the story
A dried orange wheel continues the warm tones of the drink. Lemon adds contrast, while pineapple reinforces its tropical character.
The dried fruit rests close to the nose and completes the presentation without requiring fresh fruit to be cut at service.
Made for sharing
Caribbean Sunset works for brunch, gatherings, celebrations, and zero-proof bars. For a group, prepare the pineapple-and-lime base in advance; add bubbles, grenadine, and dried fruit just before serving.
You can make it more citrus-forward with extra lime, more tropical with passion fruit, or more spiced by replacing some sparkling water with ginger beer.
An original drink inspired by those minutes when the Caribbean sky changes completely.
